Evansville Serves
These two interstitials by Arlin McRae are a part of a larger project called Evansville Serves: Voices of the Past.
What is an interstitial?
Interstitials are short pieces of from 30 seconds to 90 seconds or more used to fill space in between programs.
Why are interstitials important to Feel the History? Feel the History (FtH) students have created 30 interstitials to accompany Ken Burns' documentary The War that began airing on WNIN on September 23, 2007. Beginning the week of September 10th, WNIN used the FtH2 interstitials to promote The War. The interstitials also aired before and after each episode of The War, including reruns. These interstitials are excerpts from Veterans Interviews the FtH students conducted at the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year. These 30 interstitials are also playing from time to time on WNIN, not always around a Ken Burns episode.
